Weekend Physical Therapist

Location: NE Portland, OR  •  Type: Independent Contractor (1099)  •  Schedule: Saturdays and Sundays, set by you

SportsLab currently has no weekend physical therapy coverage — and we hear about it regularly from clients who work full-time, 9-to-5 jobs and simply can't get in during the week. This role exists to close that gap.

This is a ground-floor opportunity: you'd be the first and only weekend PT at SportsLab, working alongside our sports performance, chiropractic, massage, and acupuncture teams during the hours they're already open. It's a low-risk way to test independent practice — build a caseload on your own schedule, without leaving a stable position elsewhere, or without taking on a full weekday slate before you're ready.

What You'll Do

• Manage your own weekend caseload as an independent contractor, with full control over how you build it
• Provide evidence-informed evaluation and treatment across orthopedic, sports, and related populations
• Work alongside SportsLab and Athletic Republic's full team, even on a day when you're the only PT in the building
• Use objective testing tools (VALD ForceDecks, ForceFrame, SpeedGates, and TINDEQ) as part of your clinical practice

What We're Looking For

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree
• Active or eligible Oregon PT license
• Comfort operating as an independent contractor, building your own practice under our roof
• A genuine interest in collaborative, performance-informed care

Compensation

Compensation is structured as a percentage of your monthly collections. Because this schedule opens up previously unused weekend hours rather than competing for existing weekday demand, the split reflects that added value — details are discussed directly with qualified candidates as part of the conversation.

What if my schedule doesn't fill up right away?

We're actively promoting this as new availability to our existing client base, and you'll be visible on our online booking system, so clients can find and book you directly. That said, like any new caseload, it builds over time rather than overnight.

Can this grow into more than one day?

As your Saturday caseload grows, we're glad to talk about what expanding your availability could look like. There's no fixed plan for that yet — it's a conversation we'd have together based on demand.

Can I combine this with another job?

Yes. This role is designed with that flexibility in mind — many practitioners considering this are balancing it alongside another position.

Am I on my own to build this, or is there support?

You'll have full support from our front desk, marketing, and clinical team — you're not managing outreach alone, even though it's your caseload to build.
