Licensed Massage Therapist

Location: NE Portland, OR • Type: Independent Contractor (1099) • Schedule: Coordinated around treatment room availability

SportsLab is a multidisciplinary movement and rehab clinic in NE Portland, working alongside Athletic Republic's sports performance training under one roof. Physical therapy, massage, acupuncture, and chiropractic all serve the same motivated clients — people who find us because they're committed to better movement.

We're looking for our next massage therapist to join a growing, collaborative team — not to fill an empty slot, but to grow into real demand.

What You'll Do

Build your caseload as an independent contractor, coordinating your schedule with shared treatment room availability
Provide sports and orthopedic massage, including deep tissue, trigger point, and myofascial release, tailored to each client's goals
Work alongside physical therapists, chiropractors, and acupuncturists to support coordinated care for shared clients
Take part in Physio Big Brain, our recurring clinical collaboration session held the 1st and 3rd Monday of every month
Build ongoing relationships with clients across recovery, rehab, and performance

What We're Looking For

Active Oregon LMT license
Experience with sports or orthopedic massage, or strong interest in developing that focus
Comfort operating as an independent contractor, running your own practice under our roof
A genuine interest in collaborative, performance-informed care
If you're interested in insurance credentialing rather than cash pay, prior experience charting and billing to insurance is required

Compensation

Compensation is structured as a percentage of your monthly collections, with a marginal, two-tier rate — the more you collect in a month, the higher your rate climbs on the portion above a set monthly threshold. Specifics are discussed directly with qualified candidates as part of the conversation.

What's Provided

Access to our dedicated massage table, with additional treatment space available as needed to support your caseload
Admin support for scheduling and client communication
Optional credentialing support for insurance billing, for therapists who already have experience charting and billing to insurance (most of our massage therapists work on a cash-pay basis)
A facility with real volume moving through it — roughly 500 rehab appointments and about 100 athletes training at Athletic Republic — though referrals into massage from our other providers aren't yet an established habit, so building those relationships is part of the opportunity
Premium, convenient location with a free parking lot

A large audience, still being built into a habit. Between rehab and Athletic Republic training, hundreds of people move through SportsLab regularly — but our other providers don't yet refer into massage as a matter of course. You'd be joining at a point where that connection is still worth building, not one that's already running on its own.
